[ top ] What is a "banner exchange" anyway?
A banner exchange is a group of webpages that exchanges banner impressions. Every "member page" in the exchange has a piece of HTML code pasted into it, that automatically displays a new banner every time the page is loaded. The banner displayed belongs to one of the other members of the exchange. For each banner displayed on your website, your banner will be displayed once on one of the other members pages. This way, you can promote your webpages to 1,000's and 1,000's of people you normally would not reach.

[ top ] Do I need my own website to be a member?
To be a member, you need to have at least one webpage on the internet that you have "full control" over, in other words, a page where you can edit the HTML code.

[ top ] I do not have a banner. Where can I get one for free or cheap?
There are numerous places that offers FREE or low cost banner design out there. Here's a couple of FREE resources you should check out:

LittleGraphics Online Banner Creator
QuickBanner

Note: These services are not affiliated with Fair-X.com, and we can not provide any support about the functionallity of these services.

[ top ] Can I promote anything I want in this banner exchange?
Basically, YES! However, there are a couple of things you should have in mind:

1) We DO NOT allow ANY adult, porn, drugs, weapons, raceism or illegal websites/banners!
2) The Fair-X BannerExchange is targeted against webmasters, small-business owners, home-business owners, MLM'ers and opportunity seekers. Because of this, you will be most successful promoting webpages that offers content that could be of interest to these people.

[ top ] I have lost my password. Can you email it to me?
Sure! Go to the "login page". At the bottom of that page, you just enter your account name, and we'll send your password to the email address you used when signing up for your membership.

[ top ] Can I insert the "banner code" on more than one page?
Of course you can! In fact, the more the better! The more banners you display on your webpages, the more your banner will be displayed on the other pages in the exchange.

Note: When copying the code to multiple pages, be sure to edit the "page=01" part of the banner code. All your pages should have different values, like "page=02", "page=03" or "page=04". This is important, or else our system will NOT count the banner impressions on those other pages.

[ top ] Can I insert the "banner code" multiple times on one page?
Yes, but not more than 3 times on each of your pages! One at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom of the page.

Note: When copying the code multiple times on one page, be sure to edit the "page=01" part of the banner code. For every location you insert the banner code, you need a different "page=" value, like "page=02", "page=03" or "page=04". This is important, or else our system will NOT count the banner impressions as "unique" impressions.

[ top ] Where can I find the "banner code"?
Login to your account, and you'll find the "banner code" to implement into your webpage(s). Click here to login.

[ top ] How do I insert the "banner code" into my webpages?
This step requires a minimum of HTML design knowledge. What you do is simply to open your webpage in your HTML editor software, and then copy and paste the code wher you want the banner to be displayed.

In most "WYSIWYG" (What You See Is What You Get) such as Microsoft FrontPage and Netscape Composer, you'll find a "Insert HTML" option.

Unfortunatelly, we do not have the capacity to help all our members doing the actual implementation of the code. however, there are tons of "HTML tutorials" online where you can learn how to do this. (Try searching AltaVista for "Online HTML tutorial")

If you want a designer or programmer to do this for you, make a posting at smarterworks.com or a similar service to get in touch with a programmer/designer that can help you out for a reasonable price.

If you allredy have a ClickBank nickname, you should use that as your Fair-X account name. If you DO NOT have a ClickBank nickname, you should get one BEFORE choosing an account name when signing up for your Fair-X account.

This may sound a little complicated, but it's really quite simple. When signing up for your Fair-X membership, we'll show you how to do this step-by-step, and the entire process will take no more than a couple of minutes to complete.

If your ClickBank nickname and Fair-X account name for some reason in NOT the same, you have two options:

1) Sign up with ClickBank one more time, using your Fair-X account name as a "nickname".
2) Request a "name change" of your Fair-X account. Be sure to tell us your current Fair-X account name and password, and your ClickBank nickname (the new name you want for your Fair-X account) NOTE: Canging your Fair-X account name may take a couple of days to process.

The fastest and simplest solution is to get a new ClickBank nickname that matches your Fair-X account name. If that is impossible, then request a name change of your Fair-X account.
